Our Story
Oxford Commons is a hospitality company built upon a foundation of dreamers and doers, with a mission to create spaces that foster fellowship, humility, exploration, and curation.
On September 24, 2012, we opened the doors to our first concept, Oxford Exchange in Tampa, Florida. Oxford Exchange is a place where community happens. We didn’t tell our patrons how to use the space, they simply did. And when they did, they made it their own.
Since then, Oxford Commons has opened spaces unique to the cities they are in and the people who they are for. Our family of brands has expanded to include The Library, The Stovall House, The Current Hotel, Oxford Design Studio, and Oxford Creative Studio.
Alongside developing public and private spaces, Oxford Commons has launched two design studios that support the vision of creating and fostering fellowship, humility, exploration, and curation — Oxford Design Studio and Oxford Creative Studio.
Whether it is the curated gathering space of Oxford Exchange, the inspired interior at The Library, the impeccable design and legacy building of The Stovall House, or the artful tranquility of The Current Hotel, each of our concepts centers around cultivating community and stirring curiosity in inspired spaces.
Family of Brands
Oxford Exchange
We want Oxford Exchange to be a place, put simply, where community happens.
Oxford Exchange began with a mission to cultivate community and conversation. Designed in the spirit of human engagement, Oxford Exchange is ultimately a gathering place housing a collection of ideas and experiences under a single roof.
Just as the name suggests, we drew inspiration from the historic clubs, libraries and shops of London, whose charm and history seem to spark spontaneous social interaction.
The Library
We aspire to connect the community and honor our namesakes through inspired spaces and a shared meal.
Johns Hopkins was inspired by his close friend George Peabody to use his great wealth for the public good. The collaboration between these men and the institutions they created is the inspiration for our restaurant, located within Johns Hopkins’ All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL.
At The Library, the familiar aroma of coffee, the promise of a delicious meal, and the anticipation of friendly buzz will offer a reprieve from the daily chaos. It is where the community as a whole comes to refill their cup, both proverbially and, often, quite literally.
The Stovall House
An impeccably-designed, historic, membership-based estate.
The Stovall House is a modern day social club, offering members opportunities to connect, entertain, work, dine, and relax. Built in 1909, the historic house on the property is one of the oldest and best examples of classical revival architecture in the Tampa Bay area.
Thoughtfully planned, The Stovall House offers a private and luxurious environment, allowing each member to enjoy the simplest things in life, alongside world-class amenities.
The Current Hotel
An art-inspired boutique hotel with panoramic water views.
With expansive views of the calming waters of Tampa Bay and the city's skyline, The Current Hotel gives guests the chance to explore during their stay. Just as the tides shift the sands, Current’s exclusive art collection evolves over time and a fresh perspective on Tampa awaits guests with each return.
Guests can explore flavors at the restaurant, relax poolside, unwind at the rooftop bar, and take in the panoramic view from their room. The Current Hotel is more than a place to stay - it is a modern boutique hotel on the forefront of Tampa Bay’s current.
Predalina
Seafood-driven, Mediterranean cuisine in downtown Tampa’s Water Street.
Named after the owners’ great-grandmother (Predeliana), Predalina is a nod to her long and prosperous life. Born in Brazil, raised in Portugal, and eventually settling in Rhode Island, there was a common theme throughout her long and fruitful 101-year-life — a love of waterfront living. Just as her life had been inspired by the coast, the cuisine at Predalina is full of fresh, effortless, seafood-driven Mediterranean cuisine.
Predalina has taken its place alongside the fishing industry of the past and Water Street’s legacy of the future, bringing excellence, community, and beauty to Tampa’s newest downtown district.
Oxford Creative Studio
We create brands with a story and designs with a purpose.
In addition to providing for the ongoing creative needs of Oxford Exchange and its affiliates, they offer their services to clients who wish to tell their stories with the bespoke feeling and attention to detail for which Oxford Exchange has become known.
